Muda tells critics to be patient on party’s flood audit report

PETALING JAYA: Muda has urged critics to patiently wait for the party’s flood audit report as the auditing firm is still processing it.
Party information chief Leben Siddarth told FMT that Muda submitted all its documents earlier this year.
"The firm is still doing the audit. They asked for extra documents and receipts and we have submitted everything from our side", he said.

Leben said as far as the party is concerned, all the information and documents required have been presented to the firm.
"We urge the public not to create any false stories, as we have been transparent about the audit since day one", he said.

He said those who claim to be party members should stop constantly attacking Muda.
"If they are really members of the party, they should contribute to its growth", he said.

The audit report is on funds raised by the party for victims of the floods in December 2021, which has been a topic of contention among party members.
Online portal Scoop reported in February that several former Muda members said they left over the party’s failure to produce the audit report, among other issues with the leadership.
A group called RombakMuda, which claims to be made up of Muda members, claimed that at least 30% of posts on social media about Muda or former president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman are asking about the audit report.
"These are real people who have given money to the cause, and it is irresponsible to not deliver what has been promised," a spokesman for the group told FMT.
Syed Saddiq said last November that the audit remains a "top priority" despite certain unnamed challenges in the way, and that the party had engaged the services of a reputable top-10 audit firm.
He said the audit started in September 2022, and that the party "hopes it will be completed in the near future".
